Physician Perspectives – Big City Medicine Meets Small Town Charm

We are building upon our long-standing reputation in our region. We are supported by our parent company with financial commitments to grow our equipment and facilities in place. Alongside our community’s Billion dollar growth, our aim at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center is to be the best community hospital in the southeast. With the support of our community we offer a place to live that is filled with charm, uniqueness, a great climate, and folks with a progressive attitude who care for neighbors the way people should.

We already boast what some call "the best small town medical community in the state." With a city population of just over 7,000, Gilmore Memorial offers an unusual array of advanced services rarely found at a small hospital. This makes for an ideal setting for doctors who want to practice medicine with the best equipment, support, and facilities but on a more personal level with their patients.

Welcome from our Chief of Staff:

William "Bill" Rogers, MD
Internal Medicine
2008 Chief of Staff

(with Gilmore Regional CEO Dwayne Blaylock)

"More than 20 years ago I decided that I wanted a 'smaller town' practice. I interviewed in many places but liked Amory the best. I haven't left. Our hospital and service area offer a place to practice that will assure new physicians they will be busy and challenged, with no concern about the long-term growth of our economy."

Physician Perspectives:

"We have the best 'small town' medical community in the state. You won't find our specialties in any other town of
our size."
- William Yoe, MD

"A specialist can have as good a financial opportunity and a successful practice here at Gilmore Regional as in many large cities and urban areas." - John Turba, MD

"I coach t-ball and soccer. Amory’s Parks & Recreation Department is exceptional. My wife and I enjoy seeing our friends at the soccer fields on Tuesday and Thursday nights with all the kids." - Dwight McComb, MD
